1. General

These terms and conditions govern your use of the made by pigeons website and your purchase of products from us. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

made by pigeons is a small-scale light producer and recycler based in Muizenberg, Cape Town, South Africa. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).

2. Products

All products are handcrafted from recycled materials. Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, slight variations in colour and finish are normal and not considered defects.

All products carry an implied 6-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, as provided by the CPA. This does not cover damage caused by misuse, modification, or normal wear and tear.

3. Ordering and Payment

• All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR).
• We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders at our discretion.
• Payment must be completed before we begin production or dispatch.

We accept payment via the methods displayed at checkout. As this is an online (electronic) transaction, you have the right to cancel your order within 5 business days of receiving the goods, without penalty and without giving reason, in accordance with Section 44 of the CPA. To exercise this right, contact us at hello@madebypigeons.co.za within the cooling-off period. You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods in their original condition.

4. Shipping and Delivery

• We currently ship within South Africa only.
• Each lamp is made to order. Please allow up to 3 weeks for production and delivery.
• Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address.

Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery. If your order is damaged in transit, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photographs of the damage. We will arrange a replacement or refund at our discretion.

Under Section 56 of the CPA, you are entitled to return defective goods within 6 months of purchase for a repair, replacement, or refund. A product is considered defective if it is unsafe, has a material defect, or is substantially unsuitable for its intended purpose. This right applies regardless of any separate warranty offered.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of this website or purchase of our products shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant order. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under the CPA.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our products or website.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, designs, images, and branding on this website are the property of made by pigeons and may not be reproduced without written permission.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
